Your Department    

AJC's Regional Offices connect the local communities with AJC’s global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. We maintain the agency's nationwide presence by attracting leaders and donors to AJC, enhancing the organization’s influence with key local, national, and international decision makers and stakeholders, implementing advocacy initiatives at the state and local level, and establishing and nurturing community relationships.

Your Impact    This position makes an impact at AJC by planning and managing work with significant impact on the organization's mission and goals; may supervise direct reports. Works with moderate latitude to solve moderately complex and complex problems and make significant impact decisions.

The incumbent plans and manages campaigns and events to secure essential financial resources to support the agency’s mission and activities. Working with moderate autonomy, this position is responsible for the cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of existing donors and new prospects, coordinating fundraising events, and serving as a Development liaison and resource to assigned Departments or Regional Offices.

Your Role    

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the department's strategy, goals, objectives, and action plans
  • Develop, manage, and facilitate fundraising campaigns, programs, events, and initiatives
  • Identify, research, cultivate, engage, solicit, and steward existing donors and new prospects
  • Identify and implement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing fundraising programs
  • Participate and support the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groups
  • Leverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiatives
  • Maintain and manage programmatic spending
  • Manage department contact lists, records, data/databases, and reporting
  • Create reports and analyze fundraising activities, metrics, and impact
  • Research donors and donor prospects
  • Understand and share best practices for the usage of Raiser’s Edge (AJC’s donor database)
  • Coordinate, attend, and/or lead meetings, provide input, identify and discuss issues, and develop action plans/next steps
  • Serve as a liaison to departments, Boards, committees, and other stakeholders
  • Develop relationships with and engage strategic contacts, groups, and organizations
  • Design and disseminate reports and marketing resources to cultivate donor interest and secure funding

Specific to This Role 

  •  Manage all aspects of development related programs and events focusing on creating a pipeline of donors beginning at $1,800 through $9,999;
  • Solicit and close annual and multiyear gifts from the pipeline;
  • Collaborate with Regional Director and other team members on all events and programs;
  • Collaborate with the Associate Development Director, Advancement, Regional Director, and lay leaders in solicitation and stewardship plans for mid-level donors;
  • Collaborate in the Washington D.C. office with national departments and colleagues on programs, meetings and events to engage donors in advocacy.

  • Bachelor's degree

Compensation    

The salary for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 depending on relevant experience and location.
